Perfect Payrolls - Case Studies

Study 1. Owner managed Limited Company.

Our client runs a very successful software consultancy business employing just himself and his wife. The Two Directors take the maximum salary allowable without incurring Tax or National Insurance (currently £5,220 per year) the rest of their remuneration is taken as dividends.
Our client was previously using their local high street accountant to prepare monthly payslips and submit their year end PAYE returns. The cost to our client was £150 per quarter for this service (£600 per year) By switching to Perfect Payrolls and using our small limited company scheme, our client receives the same level of service but pays only £120 per year which includes a schedule of monthly salary payments, 2 payslips per year, end of year P60s plus online year end filing. This results in a saving for our client of £480 per year simply for switching to the Perfect Payroll service.

Study 2 Self Employed Tradesman

Our client is a master builder who runs his business on a sole trader basis. Historically he has set aside Friday afternoons for routine admin tasks including payroll. He pays 6 staff weekly and works out the net pay from tax tables supplied by the Inland Revenue. Each employee is paid the correct amount and receives a hand written payslip together with cash for the weeks work.  Our client has always kept impeccable payroll records and submits his year end returns in paper form on time. After he contacted Perfect Payrolls we discussed the amount of time that he spent performing this routine but essential function. Once all the various tasks had been performed it was apparent that on average he was spending over 2 hours per week running his own paper based payroll. This is time that is much better spent on site supervising work and generating income for his business. Perfect payrolls provided a full payroll solution for his business costing less than £45 per month. The result is that our client now has an extra one and a half days per month to concentrate on what he is good at rather than the routine paperwork involved in running his own payroll.

Currently handwriting own payslip, very time consuming for what should be a simple task Less than £45 per month

Study 3 Rapidly growing IT Company.

Our client specialises in providing out sourced IT services to large corporate clients, this involves implanting his own highly skilled staff into client premises. Each contract that he wins ranges between 3 and 10 staff that are recruited and trained to the specific requirements of the customer. This rapidly expanding company has grown from employing 5 staff 18 months ago to a current head count of over 35 staff and still growing. Perfect Payrolls has supported this growth by providing our efficient services to the client and relieving him of many of the mundane tasks associated with taking on new employees. The client simply asks the employee to complete a Perfect Payroll starter form, supplies us with the employees P45 and salary details and we do the rest. Each employee has an electronic payslip produced at the end of the month and the employer receives a report detailing the net payment to be made. Our client appreciates the value of his time and continues to build his business safe in the knowledge that he will not have to get involved in the routine administration of payroll.

Study 4 Busy Restaurant

Our client runs a busy and successful restaurant, due to the nature of this type of business staff turnover is quite high and a large proportion of staff are employed on a part time basis to cover peak periods. Some staff are paid monthly on salary and some paid weekly. Our client approached Perfect Payrolls as he was concerned about the very high cost charges to him by his current accountant for administering his payroll. We understand that not all payrolls are straightforward and we have extensive experience in the hotel, pub and restaurant trades. Even though the client had a number of weekly and monthly paid staff, we were able to provide the service at our published rates. This resulted in a saving of over £1,500 per year to the client.
